Diplexers have been designed to combine or seperate off-air and satellite signals. The advantage of this diplexer over a standard splitter, is the lower insertion loss. Satellite distribution systems use this device to combine the CATV or off-air signal with the satellite signals, as well as to seperate the signals before line amplification and receiver.
