The Vikosmo VK-100APg Wireless Access Point acts as a Wireless Ethernet Bridge and is mainly used with internet ready free-to-air and/or IPTV receivers. This unit is highly recommended for those who cannot use Powerline adapters in their home due to multiple electrical circuits.
The VK-100APg features six modes:
AP mode :
Setting this mode in VK-100APg acts as a communication hub for users of a wireless device to connect to a wired LAN environment. VK-100APg is important for offering heightened wireless security and for extending the physical range of service a wireless user has access to.
Client mode :
Setting this mode in VK-100APg can communicate with each other by first going through an Access Point (AP), and requires access to the wired LAN in order to use services such as file servers or printers.
Bridge mode :
Setting this mode in VK-100APg can communicate directly with each other, without the use of an access point (AP). It is also referred to as peer-to-peer mode.
WDS Mode :
WDS is short for Wireless Distribution System. If your installations where one Access Point isn't enough to provide a good coverage, setting this mode in several VK-100APg (several Access Points) which extend your coverage to connect your network environment.
Universal Repeater Mode :
It is also a good way to extend your network coverage, and doesn't require the remote wireless devices have WDS function.
RADIUS Mode :
Specifies the RADIUS server information if you have an external RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service) server to authenticate a user.
